As well as being a fantastic venue in the heart of Chorley, Cunliffe Hall is also the home of freemasonry in Chorley, having been bought to be used as Chorley Masonic Hall by masons in the 1960s.

Freemasons have met in Chorley for many years. The town’s first lodge was Atholl Lodge No. 238 which was founded in 1788. Sadly Atholl Lodge is no longer with us, however, Astley and Ellesmere Lodge No 730 and Townley Parker Lodge No 1032 – both of which were founded over 150 years ago – are still flourishing.
